We're Purple Peacock
Purple Peacock Movers is a locally owned, family-run moving company based in the greater Houston area. We're Derik and Chris — two guys who built this business because we believed moving could, and should, be a better experience for people.
Our mission is simple: treat every customer like a neighbor, show up on time, handle your belongings with care, and charge a fair price. No surprises, no stress — just a great move.
Derik grew up in a small Texas town where neighbors looked out for each other. The kind of place where an elderly neighbor, Mrs. Buckner, would hang coloring books on the fence for him to find after school. It was simple, but it meant something. That's where he learned what taking care of people really looks like.
He watched his father work construction all day, then wake up early to throw paper routes before work and on weekends, doing whatever it took to provide. His parents have been married for over 40 years, and that example of sacrifice, consistency, and commitment became the foundation of how he approaches everything in life and business.
Chris was raised in a family built on sacrifice, too. His parents immigrated from Poland, and his father started with long, demanding hours in the manufacturing plants before eventually building his own machine shop from the ground up. Chris grew up watching what hard work, discipline, and perseverance truly look like, and later worked alongside his dad, learning firsthand how to build something the right way.
Between us, we've spent over a decade in the moving and home service industries, learning every detail of what it takes to do this right. From how to properly protect a home and its belongings, to building teams you can trust, to creating an experience that actually respects the customer.
But more importantly, we've seen what happens when companies don't. And we knew there was a better way.
We believe our work is a reflection of who we are and what we believe. As a faith-driven company, we're committed to serving others with honesty, respect, and care, treating every customer the way we would want our own family treated.
